As the world that we live in becomes ever more digital and automated, kids need to be taught the now vital skill of coding and computer programming. While we may not need manual laborers in the future, we will always need people to programme computers and machines.
Creativity – The possibilities of what you can create with code go as far as your imagination. Teach kids code and they’ll be encouraged to use and expand their imagination and creativity. Kids are able to express themselves through code and are encouraged to not just sit behind computer games and social media, but create it as well. Coding is a great outlet of self expression as kids will have the ability to create whatever that can dream up.

3. Career Preparation
Technology has been slowly creeping in and taking over jobs that only people used to be able to do. And this is only going to keep happening. While technology might take over manual laboring jobs, you will always need people to programme that technology. The demand for people who can code is only going to keep growing. When we teach kids code, we are opening them up to endless job opportunities and making them more desirable to employers. Those with jobs that require code also earn up to 40% more than those whose jobs don’t involve coding.
Not only does code increase the job prospects for kids in the future, it also makes them more desirable to colleges. Coding skills are seen as almost vital. Having these skills will make your kids stand out to the college admissions officer of any college they apply for. If that’s not a good reason to teach kids code then I don’t know what is!
4. Coding Is FUN

They will collaborate and learn together through their shared love of coding. Kids will learn more from each other by sharing their knowledge, thoughts and skills, compared to if they were learning alone.
Teach kids code and they might also find some life long friends and future business partners!
Code in itself is an entirely new language. Teach kids code and it teaches them how to communicate logically and also develops both their written and verbal communication skills. Communication is a vital skill to have for everyday life. Unlike computers, humans are social beings that communicate in order to share and receive information, learn and grow. The ability to communicate ideas clearly is a valuable skill in so many industries. Computers are the simplest of beings, and if you can explain your complex and creative ideas to a computer in the simplest of terms, then you can explain anything to anyone!
